THE STREET PHOTOGRAPHER NOTEBOOK #16
Cover Story
I lived twenty years in those seventies full of contradictions, with the ancient mind and utopias of a world that never bloom. I traveled by hitchhiking with little money in my pocket with a used Japanese SLR.
I photographed in the street because it is on the street that there is life flowing. And it is a life with strong contrasts.
Strong emotions. Different from the greyness of sixties, even in black and white images. Great influence in my approach as a photographer had by cultural anthropology.
I always say like a nineteenth-century traveler who, equipped with a camera, was there to document the uses and customs of those strange tribes who are my neighbors.
